We intend this website to assist the students and average car owner by supplementing and complementing the theorietical works.Also we hope that the ample presentation of each topic will be of help to any student of Automobile Engineering,whether he is studying for certificate or reading for general interest.

I am Mr. Eze, J.O an automobile mechanic who have the practical knowledge and willing to pass my more than thirty five years of experience to the students and automobile apprentice who are ready and willing to move along with me, to acquire the practical knowledge. I have the basic knowledge to pass to students and young automobile engineers.I believe that what is needed today is practical teachers to teach the student how most of the things they read in a book, how is being done with their two hands. Many can read explain in details on tioritical but to prove the practical aspect, proves abortive. During my carrier in one automobile workshop late 1974 a group of students on automobile engineering course came for a practical studies, I discovered that, they read all but cant show where they are or how they look like.Therefore it grieve my heart, I am out to assist the much I can to improve the practical knowledge of our students on our high institutions. This article is covering the construction of motor vehicle and their components in a manner simple enough to be understood by young apprentices and students, beginning their training as mechanic, studies are detailed enough to serve a solid foundation for later work and studies.Even the brightest student will not find this article sufficient on its own. He will require the help and guidance of a competent teacher who has had a good experience of practical work on motor vehicles, and the student should himself be working in a motor vehicle repair shop, handling the actual components. He needs also to develop the habit of examining the components in order to become familiar with the details of their design and construction, so that he can, if called upon to do so, describe the sketch these details from memory with reasonable accuracy.In future articles, I will divide into sections, each of which covers a major topic or components. Each section will be divided into chapters which deal with a particular aspect of the topic. This enables the students to select appropriate chapters from various sections to suit his own scheme of work. I must emphasis that I expect the students to amplify the content of the article whenever necessary.TIPS FOR MY READEROne way of reducing the cost of running a car is do your maintenance and, as far as possible, you’re repairs. Many car owners have gained some practical knowledge and experience by working on their cars, but they need help to enable them to do more. This article is intended to provide that help.Cars are subject to more ills than people, and unless the owner can carry out treatment himself it can be expensive. Sometimes it is the cost of treatment required that decides the practicability of having a car or not.If you are in the happy position of being able to buy a new car every one or two years you can pass on the cost of repairs that inevitably come, to someone else. Unfortunately many of us have to rely on a used car, sometimes a much used cars, and in general it is sadly true that the older a car is the more attention it requires.That man who can not afford to take his car to a garage every time it develops some slight trouble which however, must still be treated. It attempts to instruct in no major operations, only the usual treatments cars need to keep them in good health and which many owners, with a little help carry out successfully themselves.May I ask you a little question how an average car owner, student or automobile mechanic can pass an exam on practical knowledge if he has not practical experience of a component or vehicle it’s self. A story of a student who came for an industrial training some years ago in my repair shop. He was told that if a rutor is removed from a distribution a car can not start. He is fortunate to enter into practical exam (final for his course) he was asking to start a car as his test exam. After trying the car the first and second the car refused to start. Remembering he was told during his I.T cause, if a rutor is remove a car can not start. He quickly opened the distribution cover and found out that his examiner purposely removed the rutor. He told the examiner that no amount of starting can start this car since no rutor is in distributor.As a result of his practical knowledge acquired, he detected the fault without chasing a rat. He was awarded an excellent and high mark. The examiner ordered him out through another interance and go, so that other student who has no practical knowledge will not tap from his acquired experience.A practical knowledge you acquire can lift and make you shine in your academic, in your shop. Know that we are out there to help and see that you succeed in your academics, only if you can give us a little time to come near you. You will experience a difference.As practical is dieing in our high institutions, we discovered that there is a missing link between the students and the lecturers. And it is that missing link that brought me into this article writing and therefore I have that missing link with me.
